When creating PHANTASM Sculpting Cream Mike Smith (@modernmantv ) had the vision to create a strong holding cream product that used a sugar based fixative, washed out easily with water, and added tons of nutrients (Keratin especially) to the hair. For the Nevermore Collaboration Mike pushed me outside of my comfort zone. For Phantasm I pushed him outside of his comfort zone. I wanted to challenge Mike to formulate the prototype for this product. What he created was far beyond my expectations. When he brought it to the Lockhart’s Lab there were only a few tweaks that were needed to really make this a one of a kind product and scale it appropriately. If you want strong, flexible hold that’s water soluble and leave your hair healthier after washing it out than it was before, THIS IS THE PRODUCT FOR YOU.

What's the difference between an oil based and a water based hair product?
Water-based products wash out easily with just water, give a lighter feel, and typically provide a cleaner, more natural finish. Oil-based products are thicker, longer-lasting, and give you that old-school grip and shine, but they’ll take a bit more effort (and shampoo) to remove. One's for convenience, the other's for commitment.
